Introduction

The Foundation was established by a group of concerned volunteers to assist children with disabilities in China. Most of these volunteers have social work, special education and rehabilitation backgrounds. It was incorporated under the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance in 2007 as a non-profit organisation. We ensure all the funds are used for the children.

Our motto:

We have to rise and walk for others, and those who receive service should one day be able to rise and walk.

Who are we?
We are a group of people who have worked with children and young persons with disabilities as frontline workers, administrators of service units for people with disabilities, as well as family members, and friends of people with disability. We believe there should be no discrimination between able and disabled people, and we strongly advocate the rights of people with disabilities in society.  We are all one people in our human family, endowed with feelings, ability to comprehend, and mutual giving and receiving. Many countries around the world who share our beliefs have made remarkable progress in achieving an inclusive society. Sadly, however, there are still places where disabled people are denied their rights and are marginalized. Despite the efforts of some big organizations within and outside these places to improve their lives, our working experience in the field has shown us there are huge gaps in services both at individual and institutional level to achieve this vision. We are convinced everyone can help to contribute their part in this worthwhile endeavour.
